Isabela Teijelo: Associate Attorney at Athlete Defender.

Isabela Teijelo completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and earned her J.D. from the University of Miami, graduating cum laude.

During law school, she was an active member of the Hispanic Law Student Association and the Entertainment and Sports Law Society.

A standout lacrosse player in high school, Ms. Teijelo earned First Team All Miami-Dade County honors in both her junior and senior seasons and captured a Gold Medal in the Junior Olympics.

Before joining Athlete Defender, Ms. Teijelo gained invaluable experience with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment and NBCUniversal, where she developed a strong foundation in sports and entertainment law.

Since joining Athlete Defender in 2023, Ms. Teijelo has worked closely with Mr. Setchen on a wide range of legal and administrative matters involving amateur and professional athletes, coaches, and administrators. She plays an active role in advocating for professional athletes and entertainers in family law and she has assisted many student-athletes with issues such as, eligibility waivers and appeals, administrative sports matters, drug test disputes and appeals, scholarship disputes and appeals, and a wide range of issues pertaining to athlete Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) and Revenue Sharing.

Ms. Teijelo has also worked on a compendium of sports-related administrative appellate matters including, but not limited to, with the NFL, NCAA, NAIA, FHSAA, Drug Free Sport International, MCLA, and the USTA. Ms. Teijelo annually attends the NCAA Regional Rules Seminar held in Indianapolis.

Ms. Teijelo is fluent in Spanish and she is deeply committed to advocating for athletes, coaches, and athletic administrators at all levels. With her growing expertise, she is dedicated to helping each and every client at Athlete Defender reach their maximum potential both on and off the field.
